About me Herman Jansen van Vuuren is a British Surrealist Artist with a traditional approach to the usage of Art Materials. Born in South Africa in 1957 & raised in Zimbabwe Combined my African perspective with an Avant-Garde Surreal "Western" approach to art. Studied Fine Art at the University of South Africa (UNISA) Authored the book, "The Found Art of Paint Making" published in South Africa and the UK. Lectured at UNISA (University of South Africa) 1998 & lectured at Oxford Brooks University 1999. Invited to lecture at the Edinburgh Festival 2007 - Subject - Paint Making Taught drawing and painting to children and adults, and have run workshops on paint making worldwide. Have 2 patented inventions against my name Worked as an aerospace engineering consultant on quite significant international aircraft programmes I currently live and work in the West Midlands in the UK. Besides having Art Exhibitions in most of the major cities in South Africa, had Art Exhibitions in London, Birmingham & Cardiff. Aapproximately 200 of my works are in private and corporate collections worldwide.
